Cork City

Today I am in Cork City and I am a mess. Let me back up. Last night I went to a Kalee (I may be spelling that wrong) in a somewhat nearby town. It was amazing. Seriously one of the most fun and exhausting things I have ever done. The closest thing I can compair it to would be sqaure dancing because you have a parter, there are 4 pairs in a set, and there are certain moves that you do for each dance. However, nobody calls out the steps, you are just supposed to know them. Also, when someone asks you dance, you are in it for 5 or 6 songs because they are grouped together. Anyway, it was fabulous and the locals said that I could come back and that I should teach people back in MN. I can't do that though so don't ask.

Back to the original statement. I hate traveling alone. I couldn't be more lonely today. I worked so hard to get here and all I have wanted was to go home today. I know that is sounds silly because I am in Ireland and seeing great things but I don't like traveling without friends. This is more concerning than you may immediately realize. I not only have the next couple of days here alone but starting next weekend, I am traveling alone for 12 days. I have paid too much to not enjoy this trip and get everything I can from it so I would appreciate your positive energy being sent my way.

I will definitely be sending happy thoughts your way. I wish I had the money to be over there traveling with you so you had some company (and so I could be in Europe). Take lots of pictures and keep posting! We love you!

Positive energy headed your way. I could use some as well...it seems I am not made for breastfeeding and Tyson is losing weight. We are working hard to overcome it but it's honestly the hardest thing I've ever done...Iraq included.

I will be thinking and praying for you as you travel. I can understand how lonely it would be to travel alone. But keep in mind, we are all traveling with you through your blog. Your adventures are our adventures back at home.Enjoy the trip.

All the positive energy I can possibly send is being sent to you. I completely know what it feels like to be alone and I wish I could be there to hold you up and make you smile. I could come up behind you, slap you on the butt and we could dance our way to Swederland! I would even wear my blue unitard that I used to look sooo cool in when we used to teach dance classes in. (I know you were always soo jeaslous of that, well, that and my pink leg warmers! Am I right?) Just picture me trying to fit into that size XS thing right now! Yeah, THAT would be interesting! Hopefully that put a smile on your face. It sure made me laugh. If I can find it I'll let you have it when you get back and you teach us those cool steps wearing the blue uni! That would be awesome!!! I'm sure your friends would LOVE it! We can also practice taking pictures that same night! Wow! I am just full of good ideas! Sometimes I just amaze myself! I am always here for you. No matter what time of day. Call me in the middle of the night if you need to or at work. I'm here for you!
Love ya,
Julz

Enjoy the people you meet. You are my summer vacation, too!
Brady has been sick with temps. about 104 for the past 3 days. He wants to cuddle, which is great, but not when it is all the time. It is just too much for me! Oh did I mention that he has only slept a bit, in short segments and has lost over 1 pound becuase he is refusing to eat (still, even after he is feeling a bit better w/no temp.) I like to hear of your vacation for my vacation!
Miss you out on the lake on these cool days in the shade. :)
I look forward to hearing about the interesting people you have met.

Hi Jo. I finally figured out HOW to comment in this blog. Yes, I am a graduate of the Sue Meyer technology class. (Sorry, Sue.) I am sending warm travel wishes your way. Try not to overthink the "alone" part. Live in the moment and absorb. Also, be proud of your adventurous spirit. We all think you are ultra cool to be doing this. Here's a dumb question...Do they have mosquitoes over there?

We love you, Joni! I am trying to catch up on all my blog-reading tonight and I feel for you. Just remember that you will look back on this trip and have memories like the crazy-dancing night- live it up! We are all living vicariously through you and are so proud of you.

Get it together woman, you are in freaking Ireland, we are here, do the math....okay, that sounded really harsh, but wasn't meant to be, but you know that, and I think everyone else knows that too.
I made my mother a facebook page today because she is cooler than me and all of the girls at Macy's want her to get one. I did make her buy me dinner and drinks though at Ciatti's, so I figured it all worked out...thanks for being her FB friend. I went out with those folks that I found by way of Derek and some guy that he knew on FB that I knew. 8 years to the day that they got married and that I have seen them, they are still totally in love and totally cool. How that is possible is totally a mystery! They book look amazing too, we all decided we are so lucky we are still hot....kidding of course. I do feel like I have the golden ticket because CSBSJU folks have been asking if anyone has seen them, and I can say that I have now....just to be a snot I posted a pic of them. How dorky is that. You...in Cork Ireland....me, getting excited to have found long lost friend before other long lost friends/classmates that I don't talk to except via the internet...OMG...CORK v Crazy girl...work it out! :) love ya!

Thanks for all the support. I totally appreciate it and need it. By the way, there are no mosquitos so that is great. I don't think they like the cold so much. Yesterday was actually warm and muggy in the afternoon which I hadn't felt since MN-strange.

Hey Jo-
It's really easy to add comments below pictures. Once you upload your pics, just click in the space between them and you can write in text. You can write it on the side or in the center depending on what you want to do. I appreciate you missing your traveling buddy. I envy you seeing all kinds of new and exciting stuff. Hope it gets better.

Being alone.
It's amazing how it can creep up on you while you are surrounded by loved ones or off by yourself.
You latest post once again makes me believe you are on a spiritual, doing-this-for-Jo journey. It's very obvious there have been highs and lows AND that you have tremendous support from colleagues, family and friends. Hopefully all of that support and love can carry you through the lows of this journey.
It could be worse! You could be in Mexico drinking the water and having an experience like Charlotte did! (Okay, I don't really know why that just popped up into my head, but it did. I started to giggle and hopefully you will too.)
Wishing you strength.
Live in the moment.
Know how much you are loved.

Jo,

I hope your day today is filled with excitement and joy. I totally understand how it can be lonely especially being so far away from your loved ones. Just remember, we are all there with you in spirit and we will all be here when you return to Minnesota. In the mean time, continue to enjoy the remaining days in one of you favorite destinations. *gives you a great big hug* :-)

I am also sending you lots of positive thoughts--I gotta tell you that it is obvious to me that you have quite a following with this blog, and we really are all traveling with you--we really are. Okay, so now, just to try to lighten the day, I'll post the things I'm learning this summer from my new schnoodle puppy: 1. When you gotta go, you gotta go.
2. That being said, rugs with lots of pattern can camoflage (spelling) poop for days.
3. Chewing the face off of annoying stuffed animals can be enormously satisfying.
4. Eating grass will make you throw up.
5. Bugs taste good.
6. Eating other animals' sh#t will make you throw up.
7. Gnawing on furniture is a good way to loosen up those baby teeth.
8. When a woodtick gets big enough, someone will pull it off.
9. Water tastes best when it comes out of the garden hose.
10. Eating used drying sheets will make you throw up.
11. A stranger can make your bladder give way without warning.
12. Red dog treats are a mistake, especially in the event that they are followed by any of the preceding things discussed in this entry, that might make you throw up on white carpet.
So there you go.

Lots of Positive coming your way. Hey here's a thought...remember when we went to Tadd's and we had to go back for my blender. "Going comando....I'm going Comando!!" Or how about I think I can fly....Joni get off the deck....I think I can fly guys. Any happy thoughts with that? It's making me laugh just thinking about it.
The end of trips alone are always the hardest but you are one of the strongest people I know. Head up and camera out....try that weird looking stuff, carry pepto and leave us a message about it. Can't wait to hear more. Miss you lots.
